Aurora’s girls basketball team finished the 2022 calendar year on a high note, picking up its second win of the season by holding on for a 41-39 win over Omaha Gross in the consolation round of the Blair Holiday Tournament Friday.
The offensive flow for the Lady Huskies, especially early on, came through the transition game and was sparked by the Fahrnbruch sisters.
Younger sister Adi kicked things off with a transition layup before older sister Eva added her own transition layup and free throw. It was all part of a 7-2 run to begin the game for Aurora.
Aurora also looked to push the ball early on, leading to scores from Denae Nachtigal and Hannah Janda as the Lady Huskies led 11-8 after the opening stanza.
