Hampton’s football team earned its biggest win in a generation Friday. On a soggy Friday under the lights, the Hawks earned its first ranked victory of the Jereme Jones era, a 27-24 win over previously No. 4 Pawnee City.

The Lady Huskies brought home plenty of hardware from Thursday’s Central City Invite. Piloted by Ella Eggleston’s gold medal effort, the Aurora girls cross country team took top honors at Valley View with 31 points.

Aurora needed a win and got it Friday against Columbus Scotus, controlling the game for all but a few minutes in the second quarter to go 1-0 with a 41-21 victory in what coach Kyle Peterson called a whole new season.
