Aurora and McCook played out another classic in what has become a respected football rivalry Friday, with the Bison scoring two late touchdowns to escape with a 27-20 win after the Huskies were unable to deliver a knockout blow in a battle that seemed their’s for the taking.

Staring its second consecutive five-set match in the face and on the heels of losing a close fourth, Aurora coach Michaela Perry was emphatic with her team.“You guys can do this!” She said multiple times before the Lady Huskies took the floor.

Aurora’s season-opening slate was no joke.The Husky volleyball team began the 2025 season on the road Thursday night in Wahoo, challenging the Warriors and Norris.That’s two matchups featuring the defending Class B champions in the Titans while Wahoo was last year’s runner-up team in Class C1.
