Pedersen named to Johnny Carson Center cohort

Hannah Pedersen of Phillips, a graduate of Aurora High School, is among 36 students who have been selected to join the latest cohort of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts. This is the second cohort for the center, which opened last fall.

Bremer Center re-opens after COVID shutdown

On Monday Gov. Pete Ricketts ordered flags to fly at half-staff to honor the passing of Lincoln Police Department Investigator Mario Herrera. “Susanne and I were devastated to learn of the passing of Investigator Mario Herrera,” said Ricketts.

Though the Nebraska State Fair was limited in size and scope this year by a global pandemic, the sentiment among fairgoers, volunteers and board members was unanimous — having a smaller State Fair was better than having no State Fair at all.
