Connor Smith kept the Pinnacle Bank Seniors in the game while Camden Holliday ended up stealing it.  The Aurora Post 42 Pinnacle Bank Seniors team rallied to defeat Wood River 4-3 in walk-off fashion from Mitchell Field Thursday.

Can Care-a-Van drive tops goal by thousands Donations far exceeded expectations during last week’s annual Can Care-a-Van drive in Aurora, with local residents contributing food and cash donations which added up to a record 45,648 pounds.

Outside of a number of impressive plays by the Aurora Post 42 Pinnacle Bank Seniors, the team couldn’t quite find the groove during its most recent week of baseball.

While the Aurora Cooperative Juniors are still searching for its first win of the season, coach Jeremy Burgener knows it isn’t far away.  There were a couple close calls over the weekend as the Aurora Cooperative Juniors competed at a York tournament, losing a pair of contests.
Aurora Pinnacle Bank Seniors in the dugout, including Wyatt James (14) put on their rally hats in the 7th inning of a 7-3 loss to Shelton/Gibbon at home last week. Aurora rallied for three runs in the seventh, but not enough to complete the comeback.

Devin Otto couldn’t keep track of his strikeout total on the mound with both of his fingers. He needed most of his toes, too.  Otto fanned 16 batters during Aurora Post 42 Pinnacle Bank Seniors’ 14-7 win at Twin River May 31 in six innings of relief work.

The Aurora Pinnacle Bank Seniors team has had quite the start to the 2022 summer campaign.  The Seniors Legion squad posted two wins in its first three games, including a 15-6 win over Central City May 20, a 7-5 win over St. Paul May 22 before a 6-0 loss to DCB Thursday.
The Aurora 4R School Board meeting was packed to overflowing Monday afternoon, with almost everybody present for one agenda item -- baseball.

The Aurora Pinnacle Bank Post  42 Seniors team made a few adjustments on the fly during the Class B Area 1 tournament in Fairbury this weekend hoping to extend its season.  It worked, as Aurora used several small-ball tactics at the plate to defeat Crete and nearly pick up a win over York.

It was a busy stretch of competition for the Aurora Cooperative Post 42 Juniors team as the regular season winds down.  Aurora played three games in three days and now has one game left before districts begin this week.
