Early ballot applications have begun to be mailed to registered voters

Secretary of State Bob Evnen announces early ballot applications are now on their way to every registered voter in Nebraska. “For voters who have concerns about voting at the polls in November, an early ballot request for a mail-in ballot is a good option,” said Secretary Evnen.

HCF accepting grant applications until Oct. 1

Grant applications are being accepted by the Hamilton Community Foundation for eligible charitable projects in Hamilton County. The current grant application form and guidelines are available at www.hcfne.org.

Pedersen named to Johnny Carson Center cohort

Hannah Pedersen of Phillips, a graduate of Aurora High School, is among 36 students who have been selected to join the latest cohort of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts. This is the second cohort for the center, which opened last fall.

On Monday Gov. Pete Ricketts ordered flags to fly at half-staff to honor the passing of Lincoln Police Department Investigator Mario Herrera. “Susanne and I were devastated to learn of the passing of Investigator Mario Herrera,” said Ricketts.
