Monday’s Hamilton County Board meeting saw three of the five commissioners joining via Zoom, with the remainder of the usual meeting attendees at the courthouse.
First up on the agenda was another COVID-19 update provided by Hamilton County Emergency Manager Kirt Smith.
“Actually there’s a little bit of good news. Our numbers have been steady over the last week,” he began. “As far as hospitalizations, we’ve kinda climbed a little bit, but they are staying at that, in our area, 36 percent of patients in the hospital are COVID. So that is down quite a bit from our 50 plus (percent). The hospitals are still full. They’re still feeling the pressure, but they did have a little reprieve at least.”
