Craft, Toy and Gun Show on target
The inaugural Craft, Toy and Gun Show hosted at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds by the Ag Society was a welcomed success this past weekend.
The event saw multiple vendors displaying a wide range of products, and two days worth of eager holiday shoppers.

Defensive effort helps Huskies past AC
Much of Aurora’s opening-night matchup at Adams Central Thursday looked like two teams that just played in their respective state football championships.
Because, well, they had.
In the end, the Huskies played stiff defense and made enough free throws late to defeat the Patriots, 50-44.

Company H’s story continues on journey to Deming, N.M.
As Company H left Aurora via train in late September, 1917, the “soldier boys” were off to start their training at Camp Cody in Deming, N.M. after months of waiting for orders in Camp Hamilton, located in Aurora’s Streeter Park.
After being ushered out of town in spectacular fashion, “with a tremendous cheer from hundreds of husky throats, the special train bearing Company H on the first lap of its journey to the southern training camp at Deming, N.M.”

High Plains rallies during second half in win over Giltner
It’s been awhile since Clarks hosted a varsity basketball contest. Maybe that was the reason for Friday’s slow start.
However, once High Plains got rolling, the Storm made the most of it.
The Lady Storm earned its first win of the season Friday night, defeating area rival Giltner by a 47-18 score in front of a limited family-only crowd.

Aurora Adopt-A-Pet welcomes new shelter manager to family
Sandy Summers is no stranger to the Aurora Adopt A Pet, as a long-time volunteer. Recently she took her passion for animals to the next level as she stepped into the role of shelter manager.
