An up and down afternoon ultimately ended in heartbreak for Aurora's two girls wrestlers at Friday's state wrestling championships.Natalie Bisbee and Aubrie Beed both won their opening round consolation matches, but neither could come up with wins in the subsequent round.

Logan Svoboda ran into a buzzsaw Friday night in his semifinal match.The Aurora freshman was challenged by Bennington's Cadyn Coyle as the Badger picked up a first period pinfall over Svoboda. The loss moves Svoboda into Saturday's medal matches, wrestling for as high as third or low as sixth.

For a second straight week, tensions were high among the Aurora girls wrestling group as none of its wrestlers has secured a spot in the state championships ahead of the heartbreak round.

Booker Scheierman quickly moved on from Aurora’s challenging Friday night loss for one of his best high school games ever Saturday. Scheierman dropped a career-high 35 points on 14 of 26 shooting as the Huskies blitzed past Lexington 67-40 at home Saturday afternoon.
