The Aurora girls wrestling team advanced four competitors to Friday’s A-3 district event with tickets to the state championships hanging in the balance.

Sunday Fun Day wrestling takes over A-Town

Aurora became the epicenter of youth wrestling Sunday with nearly 500 participants in town for the Aurora wrestling club’s tournament. Athletes from eighth grade down to PreK showed off their talents in front of a jam-packed crowd.

Down six in the fourth quarter, Peyton Hofmann wanted the ball. The Storm sophomore scored eight of her 12 points in the fourth quarter to flip the script and deliver a 32-30 win over Shelby-Rising City in the CRC quarterfinals Monday from the York City Auditorium.

Winter weather unable to slow down Husky-Duke rivalry

A snow squall didn’t cool off the Aurora-York rivalry as the two teams met face-to-face on the mat with the winter weather swirling outside.The Huskies hosted the Dukes for what ended up being just one dual Thursday afternoon as York won by a 49-12 score.
