Lance Russell was determined to win in his final days wearing HPC blue and red, helping the Storm to a gold medal in the 3200 relay and also finishing third in the 1600 relay over the weekend.

Phillip Kreutz set a new Giltner school record in the 800, finishing fourth in a time of 2:00.54 Saturday.

Lucas Gautier moved to second on Aurora’s all-time list in the 800 run, finishing with a time of 1:56.73 while earning a sixth place medal in the Class B race Thursday.

Aurora’s Adi Fahrnbruch will participate in three events at this week’s state track and field championships, including the triple jump, long jump and 400 meter relay. Fahrnbruch was the district champion in the triple jump while finishing third in the long jump.

Phillip Kreutz rounds the first turn on the final lap with the field chasing him as the Hornet senior led the 3200 relay group to a win at the D-6 district in Kenesaw.

Hampton’s Eli Arndt won the 3200 run at last week’s D-2 district meet while HPC’s Haden Helgoth finished second, qualifying both area athletes for the state championships.
