Luke Grosshans had quite the walk Friday.The Aurora junior was nearly lights out on the challenging York Country Club track, finishing third at the Central Conference meet to pace the Husky golf team.Grosshans turned in a score of 75, tied for the second-best score of the tournament.
Aurora’s Charlie Evans has the slight edge over teammate Lucas Gautier during the second lap of the 800 run at last week’s Central Conference meet in Crete. Evans and Gautier finished 1-2 in the event.

Keegan Chaney’s efforts both at the plate and center field were a huge factor in Aurora getting back in the win column.The Aurora junior blasted Aurora’s first home run in program history and followed it up with a show-stopping double play in the field as the Huskies picked up a 6-5 win over St.

Hornets win first Twin Valley Conference championship

Giltner competed in its first-ever Twin Valley Conference track meet Saturday under relatively normal conditions as the meet concluded ahead of another round of rain. The Hornets did quite well for themselves, including several event wins on the boys side on the way to a team title.

Despite the wind advantage in the second half, the Huskies were unable to find the net. In the end, a superb defensive performance meant a second goal wasn’t necessary.

Charlie Evans waited, paused and held back a bit more during a tense 1600 race late Monday afternoon.Once the pay window opened up in the final 200 meters, though, the Aurora junior found a fifth gear, turned for home and never looked back.

The 100 meter dash final at last week’s High Plains Invite featured a lot of local flavor.Of the eight lanes, four of them were occupied by area ANR athletes and in the end, the race for the win came down between two of them.
