I-80 work to begin near Aurora

Weather permitting, work will begin this week according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation on Interstate 80 just east and west of Aurora. Werner Construction Inc., of Hastings, has the $13,161,049 contract.

APS announces registration for 2020/2021 school year

The Aurora Public School has released registration information for the 2020/2021 school year. Registration is for the new students that have not already registered for the upcoming school year. Exempt school students who would like to register for classes need to attend new student registration.

16th Can Care-A-Van planned for Aug. 4

Another hallmark of summer in Hamilton County -- the Can Care-A-Van -- is ready and set to take off on Aug. 4. The 16th annual showing of community support for the local food pantry will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

An eye for photography

Jennifer Ediger knew in her mind’s eye the image she was hoping to capture. She and her husband Lowell had been to the pasture in Burwell many times, where she noticed hundreds of dragonflies hovering around a barbedwire fence.
