Art Walk Aurora approved for Sept. 19

A hallmark of the fall season, Art Walk Aurora will be back in action for another year Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the courthouse lawn, weather permitting.

Aurora walkers log 20 years, 10,000 miles together

A group of Aurora men hit a 20-year milestone Friday, walking together each weekday morning in all kinds of weather, sharing friendship, stories and a desire to stay healthy. It all started back on Aug. 21, 2000, after a golf outing in Grand Island, recalled Kelly Grossnicklaus.

Willcock family showcases history of horses in unique collection

Some people would say their passion is in their blood, and for Dwight Willcock, his love of horses has been running strong through his veins for generations. From utilizing horses for work to owning them for pleasure, Dwight’s passion has most recently transformed into an extensive tack collection.

Gov. Ricketts signs legislation for tax relief on military retirement pay

On Monday, Governor Pete Ricketts held a ceremonial bill signing at American Legion Post 52 in Kearney to celebrate LB 153 becoming law. LB 153 exempts 50 percent of military retirement pay from Nebraska income tax. Senator Tom Brewer of Gordon introduced LB 153 at the request of Gov.

Goodwill trailer to be in Aurora beginning Sept. 1

Afternoon on Tuesday, Sept. 1 the Goodwill trailer will be arriving at the Aurora United Methodist Church. The trailer will be available until Tuesday, Sept. 8 or until full. Accepted items include clothing, household items, shoes, accessories, books and electronics.
