Vaccines for COVID should be mandatory

Dear Editor: I. Do. Not. Understand. Why. People. Refuse. To. Get. COVID. Vaccinations. Then when they get COVID, they expect medical staff to help them, when they wouldn’t listen to them and get vaccinated in the first place.

Secret now out -- We’re about to be great-grans

You may have noticed the Betterhalf had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. All of this came from a short story with a much delayed ending. Let’s begin this tale from about a month ago when our grandson and his wife dined with us.
Nebraska co-captain Austin Allen watches helplessly on what turned out to be his final snap wearing the scarlet and cream as Iowa snags the game-winning interception with less than a minute to play in a 28-21 loss to the Hawkeyes Friday. Allen is set to begin training for a potential pro football career in the coming months and will enter the NFL draft.

Oz’s last stand

Austin Allen’s first game in Memorial Stadium was a tough pill to swallow. His final one wasn’t any easier.  Oz, a then-junior for the Aurora Huskies, made one of the more impressive high school catches I’ve seen on the right sideline with his team down 25-21 on a 4th and 16.

Oz’s record showing

Everything finally started to fall into place for Austin Allen in Badgerland.  Well, except for one thing.  The Nebraska co-captain had the game of his life Saturday, catching seven passes for 143 yards in Saturday’s road game at Wisconsin, a single game school record for a tight end.

TBH, LOL changes in lingo can be confusing

As we get older the word “change” carries a whole new meaning and it’s one that occurs more often and is also one of more frequent personal dread. “Change” now interrupts my comfortable routine and lifestyle more than I would like although I also must admit “change” in some instances has been good.
