Deer firearm hunting season ended this weekend, with area hunters reporting less than usual success filling their tags. T&L Liquor, the only check-in station in Hamilton County, reported 202 tags checked in as of Monday, down considerably from previous years.

The never-give-up attitude was there, just not enough in the scoring column to extend the season. Aurora’s girls soccer team was defeated by Grand Island Northwest by a 6-2 score during semifinal action of the B-6 subdistrict tournament May 3.
Members of the 2022 Crooked Creek Trap Team are from Aurora, Giltner, Heartland, High Plains and McCool Junction. The team had 52 members this year.
