Kevin Vaught

Kevin V. Vaught, age 65 of Aurora,  lost his battle with glioblastoma brain cancer on Friday, July 24, 2026 at home surrounded by his loved ones.He was born on Monday, July 10, 1961, in Friend, to David C. and Beverly F. Vaught. Kevin was the sixth of seven children born to David and Beverly.

Donald Stiefel, age 88, of Lincoln, passed away on June 24, 2026. Donald’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a graveside memorial on August 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to join for a luncheon at 1 p.m. at the Hamilton County Senior Center in Aurora.

Betty Jean Davis, 98, died on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Billings, Montana.Mrs. Davis, who was always known as Jean was born in Aurora, on August 1, 1927, to Ora Sloan Day and Florence Virginia Damoude Day. She was the youngest of five sisters.

Hastings resident Darlene R. Otto, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026, in Lincoln.       Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings with Pastors Josh Seifert and Dan Norwood officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m.

Karen Sue Powell, 81 of Ogallala, passed away on Saturday,  July 4, 2026, at Grand Island Regional Medical Center.  Karen Ronneker, born March 12, 1945, was the youngest daughter born to Lester and Barbara (Ziegenhagen) Ronneker in Ogallala.

Frances Bottorf

Frances Bottorf, age 77, of Hampton, entered her eternal home Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Grand Island Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Frances’ wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.

Rosetta Reisinger

Rosetta Reisinger, 98, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Memorial Community Care.   Rosie’s wishes were to be cremated.   A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at the Aurora United Methodist Church.   Rev. Mary Scott will officiate.

Eldon "Bud" Wall

Eldon “Bud” Ardean Wall, age 87, of Lincoln, passed away on June 23, 2026.  Bud was born on March 10, 1939, in Hamilton County, to Harold and Elva Wall, who preceded him in death. He dedicated his life to service, leadership, faith, family, and community.

Mike Bjorkman, age 71, met his Savior Jesus Christ in heaven on Friday, June 19, 2026, two days before his 72nd birthday.Public visitation will be held at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora, on June 29, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
