Franny was born July 1, 1948 to Henry and Bonnie (Schaffer) Cherry in Houston, Texas.
Following the untimely passing of her biological mother during her toddler years, Franny was raised with lifelong devotion by her stepmother Evelyn Cherry who loved and guided her throughout her entire upbringing.
She grew up in Mesquite and later graduated from Mesquite High School in 1966.   She married Lonnie Bottorf on April 25, 1969.   Following their marriage, they lived in Houston until Lonnie’s military discharge at which time they moved to Marquette, to buy their first home and raise their family.   They had three daughters: Kaya, Sheila and Bonnie.   Frances and Lonnie were married for 21 years and decided to go their own ways, remaining as friends.   Franny then moved to Aurora, residing there and focusing on her career in the deli and bakery at Super Foods in Aurora.   After a time residing in Aurora she then met her lifelong partner Rod Olson, with whom she shared her home for many years.   After leaving Super Foods she worked at Generations, Mickey Finns and Grandview and then went to work at Aurora Memorial Hospital in the dietary where she retired from there.
She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing and many other crafts along with flower gardening.
She was a loving, nurturing mother and grandmother as well as a great-grandmother.   Those left behind to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Kaya Leonard, Sheila Bottorf and Bonnie Bottorf; three grandchildren, D.J. Leonard and his wife Ruby, Jonathan Britt and granddaughter Thereza Bottorf; four great-grandchildren, Christopher Leonard, Chloe Leonard, Keanu Leonard and Natalia Leonard, whom she all loved dearly.   She is also survived by her sister, Sherry Hance and brother, Donnie Gay, both of Texas and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bonnie (Schaffer) Cherry, mother, Evelyn Cherry, sister, Betty Dearman, brother, Rocky Gay and Rodney Olson and Lonnie Bottorf.
