A Memorial Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Giltner Cemetery in Giltner, with Father Mark Seiker as celebrant. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Sit N Bull Saloon in Giltner.

Payton Lorrainne Ackerson, 16, went to her heavenly home after an ebike accident surrounded by her family and her boyfriend Hudson and his family. She succumed to her injuries in the early morning hours of Sept. 6, 2026 at Children’s Hospital in Omaha.

Budd Niles, 84, of Aurora, passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2026, at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Services to be held Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.

Troy Lynn Holloway

Troy Lynn Holloway of Aurora passed away unexpectedly at home Sept. 5 2026, just weeks before his 61st birthday. Visitation and funeral services will be held in Aurora, date and time to be announced soon. Troy was born in Aurora, the oldest son of Bob and Karen Holloway, in 1965.

Dennis Lynn Wall, 94, of Hampton passed away on Sept. 6, 2026, at Hearthstone Nursing Home in York. He was born on May 20, 1932, in Hampton, to Herman and Florence (Dobberstein) Wall. Dennis graduated from Hampton High School in 1950.

Robert (Bob) Allyne Pier, 89, of Aurora, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at The Legacy Square in Henderson. A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 18 at Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Bob Gannon will officiate.

Ruth Ann Sandell, 86, of Polk, died on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Midwest Covenant Homes in Stromsburg.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at High Prairie Community Church in Polk with Pastor Justin Smith officiating.

Shirley Ann Goertzen, age 82 of Henderson, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Henderson. She was born February 22, 1944, in York, to Arnold E. and Irene (Regier) Friesen. On August 23, 1963, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ardean R.

Jimmy Robert Taylor, son of Glen and Wilma (Griess) Taylor, was born in Sutton, on April 2, 1939, and passed away in Harvard, on August 11, 2026, at the age of 87. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m.
