Second half effort helps Kearney Catholic to win

In the end, a salty Kearney Catholic squad overwhelmed Aurora on both ends of the floor.  The Stars outscored the Huskies 32-11 in the second half on its way to a 58-34 win over Aurora Thursday night.

Mayor Marlin Seeman does hereby declare a "Snow Emergency" in the City of Aurora, to be in effect beginning at 12 p.m. CST, on Monday, Jan. 25 and ending at 12 p.m. CST, on Tuesday, Jan. 26. The City of Aurora has declared this Snow Emergency based on the forecast from the National Weather Service.

Scoring spurt gives Huskies home win

A critical second half run was more than enough for Aurora’s boys basketball team Friday night.  The Huskies used a 15-0 run through the third and fourth quarters to go from a one-possession lead to a double-digit advantage in a 51-37 win over Schuyler at home.

Aurora teachers to get vaccine

A majority of teachers in Aurora have expressed interest in receiving a COVID vaccine, which is tentatively scheduled to be administered in early February. “We registered and submitted preliminary numbers and it looks as if we’re going to get the Moderna vaccine,” Supt. Jody Phillips announced.

Norris bests Aurora in athletic top 10 matchup

Aurora and Norris went tic for tac for much of their midweek top 10 matchup last week in what turned out to be a thrilling December tilt.  In the end, though, Class B No. 3 Norris had the edge on No. 8 Aurora, winning 63-53 in the final game before the holiday break.

Lady Huskies come up short against area foes

Aurora’s first home game of the season didn’t quite go to plan.  The Lady Huskies struggled to stay consistent on offense and didn’t have enough in the tank to chase down Grand Island Northwest in a 50-31 loss Saturday.
