Louisville Public School District school counselor Kurt Finkey is set to become Giltner Public School’s K-12 principal and activities director after the resignation of principal Christopher Pietrzak.
Finkey stated that he was ready to accept the job and bring his years of experience to Giltner.

Giltner students Cooper Reeson, Kylon Jurgens and Caleb Schrock took home a statewide first place finish in the SIFMA stock market contest, competing against more than 300 other high school teams in Nebraska.

A handful of Giltner High School students have claimed statewide glory thanks to the Stock Market Game -- a program that, in Nebraska, puts students in grades 4-12 through a mock stock exchange period to see who comes out on top.

The Giltner School Board approved a quote from Winfrey Plumbing regarding the high school gym locker rooms and tabled another quote from the company on the high school boys’ rest room on Jan. 11 while waiting for further information on the pricing of tiles and partitions.

The Giltner boys basketball team had a great start to the season, but shooting woes have killed the momentum the team started with.
Those offensive struggles continued Dec. 9 as Nebraska Lutheran visited Giltner and left with a 49-27 win.

Both Hornet teams kicked off its 2022-23 seasons with huge starts, both defeating Harvard on the road Thursday.
The girls team shot the ball over 70 times on the night, picking up a 43-18 win while the boys team rolled to a 50-21 win.

It was quite the debut for HPC’s freshmen.
The Lady Storm’s two leading scorers were playing in their first-ever high school basketball game and played well enough to carry HPC to a 41-29 win over area-rival Giltner in Polk Friday.
