Ever since suiting up in Aurora red, Nate Boerkircher has bet on himself. That first bet was a walk-on position with the Nebraska football team instead of scholarship opportunities at lower level schools. Eventually, he turned that into a scholarship with the Huskers.
Aurora’s defense faced a tough task Friday to slow down a powerful Lakeview rushing attack as the Vikings scored all six of its touchdowns on the ground in a 45-0 win in the C1 quarterfinals. Aurora ends its season with a 7-4 record.

In one year, the Aurora volleyball team nearly tripled its win total and was a single match away from a state tournament berth.The Lady Huskies kicked off the B-2 district with a bang, downing Blair at home Thursday in four sets, 26-28, 25-21, 25-18 and 25-20.
