Five local veterans earn distinguished Quilts of Valor

Friday’s Veterans Day program was highlighted, as is tradition, with the presentation of Quilts of Valor to local veterans in celebration of their service. This year’s group included Hamilton County veterans Leon Cederlind, Pat Nuss, Dick Phillips, John Springer and Scott Springer.

Five area veterans awarded Quilts of Valor during fair

As is tradition and in the spirit of honoring those who have served the United States in the military, Jeanette Friesen and the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild was back at it again during the Thursday opening ceremonies of the 2022 Hamilton County Fair to present five veterans with their very own Quilt...

Local veterans celebrated with Quilts of Valor at Plainsman

Family, friends and community members gathered inside the Plainsman Museum Saturday morning to honor and celebrate five veterans. The Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild presented the guests of honor with quilts created by their members as Janette Friesen shared each of their stories.

Local veteran Art Van Luchene presented his Quilt of Valor

Art Van Luchene found himself wrapped up in a quilt during the VFW meeting on Dec. 1, but not just any ordinary quilt -- a Quilt of Valor. Jeanette Friesen spoke on behalf of the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild as she and Claire Frevert presented the quilt to the honoree.
