Friday’s Veterans Day program was highlighted, as is tradition, with the presentation of Quilts of Valor to local veterans in celebration of their service.
This year’s group included Hamilton County veterans Leon Cederlind, Pat Nuss, Dick Phillips, John Springer and Scott Springer.
“These quilts are awarded, not just handed out,” said Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild member Jeanette Friesen. “This Quilt of Valor unequivocally says thank you for your service, sacrifice, and valor in serving our nation.”
Veterans were introduced alongside a narration of their service given by Aurora High School students, before being wrapped in their quilts by family and friends.
