Hampton Lutheran School plans celebration as closure draws near

The Hampton Lutheran School community will gather Saturday to celebrate a tradition of Lutheran education that dates back to the 1860s, while also marking the emotional end of an era.
School counseling staff at the 4R district is taking steps ahead with digital class registration, and updated professional titles, just in time for National School Counseling Week. Together, Aurora’s counseling staff includes, from left, Michelle Sutter (HS counseling administrative assistant), Emily Hoegh (district mental health therapist), Erlinda Amen (elementary school counselor), Barb Bonifas (high school counselor), Jake Willems (high school counselor) and Angie Moural (middle school counselor).

Things are changing for students at Aurora High School thanks to a little leg work done by school counselor Jacob Willems and the rest of the counseling staff. The age-old task of registering for next year’s classes just got a whole lot easier.

The 4R Board took time during Monday’s meeting to reaffirm the district’s Safe Return to School (COVID) plan -- a topic at the forefront of many minds in the county as the case count spikes again to start 2022.
