Aurora duo to join Hastings Baseball

Otto thrilled about opportunity with Hastings College It’s hard to find someone who loves baseball more than Devin Otto.  He’s grown up around the diamond, playing catch and chasing pop flies. That’s not going to change any time soon.

Seniors put up good fight in Legion tourney

In a total heartbreaker the Aurora Pinnacle Bank Seniors are done with tournament play for the weekend after a 2-1 loss to York in the fourth round Monday afternoon.  The weekend started with an 11-0 loss to York Friday evening at Levitt Stadium.

Pinnacle Bank Seniors play pair of doubleheaders

The Aurora Pinnacle Bank Post 42 Seniors head into the Class B, Area 4 tournament looking for momentum after a rocky Sunday afternoon.  The Post 42 Seniors were blanked by York 21-0 while also dropping a tight 6-5 contest to Holdrege in the round robin finale.

Aurora Coop Juniors fall in area tourney

There were moments during the Class B, Area 4 tournament in Columbus over the weekend that the Aurora Cooperative Post 42 Juniors team played well enough to win.  Those moments, however, didn’t match up often enough with one another.  Aurora began the tournament as the No. 6 seed, falling to No.

Aurora Cooperative Juniors set for district competition

The Aurora Cooperative Post 42 Juniors team scored a lot of runs last week, but couldn’t add any to the win column.  In all, the Aurora Cooperative Juniors tallied 18 runs in two games, but lost 15-10 to Wood River June 27 and 14-8 to Kearney June 28.

Aurora Cooperative Juniors get back on right track with win

The Aurora Cooperative Juniors won two of its last three games last week, trying to shift the momentum back positive as the postseason looms not far off.  The Juniors defeated York 10-8 June 21 before a 4-1 loss to Grand Island June 22, but getting a 14-9 win over Doniphan-Trumbull Sunday.

Pinnacle Bank Seniors run wild in Sunday road victory

Dylan Dubas’ bat came alive Sunday afternoon and with it, the floodgates opened.  The Aurora Post 42 Pinnacle Bank Seniors catcher had a huge game at the plate, going 5 for 6 at the dish alongside 5 RBIs in Aurora’s 17-10 win at Doniphan-Trumbull.

Second annual alumni game a blast from the past

Dick Phillips, an Aurora City Council member, made his way out to the mound and tossed a clean fastball to the plate in front of a cheerful crowd at Mitchell Field.  Wait, what? No, this isn’t a throwback article.

Aurora Cooperative Juniors searching for consistency

The Aurora Cooperative Post 42 Juniors team has found a bit of success in recent games and coach Jeremy Burgener is hopeful that will continue to trend upwards.  A 12-4 win over DCB June 15 was the team’s third in a row to that point, but an 8-5 loss to Wood River Thursday and 8-5 loss to St.
