Post 42 team not able to keep pace with CC, Seward
There were moments during the Class B, Area 4 tournament in Columbus over the weekend that the Aurora Cooperative Post 42 Juniors team played well enough to win.
Those moments, however, didn’t match up often enough with one another.
Aurora began the tournament as the No. 6 seed, falling to No. 3 Central City 13-5 Friday afternoon before losing the following day, 8-0 to Seward, ending its season.
Aurora coach Jeremy Burgener pointed out there were some positives from the weekend from a young talent pool, but the end result still carried a sting.
“It was a tough way to end our season because our team played better than the result showed,” he said. “We just needed to find a way to put everything together in the same day and we just couldn’t do that.”
