Hampton coach Margo LaBrie was shocked looking at the damage East Butler did offensively in the fourth quarter.  The Tigers scored 28 points and completely erased a 13-point deficit.  Yet, LaBrie’s Lady Hawks found a way to gut out a home victory.

Hampton Hawk test scores above statewide averages

Hampton Supt. Holly Herzberg said she was generally pleased with the district’s performance in statewide testing results made public last week, though noting that there are many other factors that weigh into student learning and instruction.

Hawk seniors leave program better than they found it

Drake Schafer didn’t know it at the time, but Hampton’s 49-7 win over Santee turned out to be his final high school football game.  But what a show the Hawk senior went out on. Schafer totaled three interceptions, two of them pick sixes in the rout of Santee.

HPC Storm defeat Hampton in area showdown last week

A quick start was all High Plains needed last week.  Coming off a few days off, the Storm looked fresh in a two-set win over Hampton at the Meridian triangular, 25-20 and 25-20. Both the Hawks and Storm lost to the hosts, Meridian.

The Hawks are soaring higher than ever in recent memory.  Hampton’s football team dominated its way to a second victory in a row out of its bye week, taking a 58-18 win at Heartland Lutheran Friday night.

Hampton school budget approved

The Hampton School Board approved its 2021-22 budget Monday, a $5.48 million fiscal plan which includes a $95,596 increase in tax asking and a 1.7 percent increase in the tax levy. Supt.
Hampton’s gymnasium is converted into a badminton court three times a week as part of a new badminton club for students in the fifth through eighth grade. Participants compete Tuesdays and Thursdays after school and on Saturday mornings in a five-week spring season.

Growing up in Northern California Desiree Christenson enjoyed the sport of badminton, so much so that she continued playing on her high school team and later in college as a club sport.
