Allen speaks to Aurora Rotary
Former Husky grateful for hometown support over time
“How’s it going, Oz?”
The voice Austin Allen heard through the zoom call was all too familiar. The Aurora native has heard it quite a bit in his lifetime.
The smile that came over his face when his former coach asked him a question was all that needed to be said.
The Nebraska football veteran was the special guest at last week’s Aurora Rotary Club meeting, talking to members and guests via Zoom in between Allen’s hectic fall camp schedule.
Aurora coach Kyle Peterson and a few other Husky football coaches were in attendance to hear what one of their former players had to say on a variety of topics, from current life as a Husker player to more recent events, like Big Ten media days and Nebraska’s athletic director search.
Peterson asked his former player and Husker standout about the positives of having a solid number of fifth and sixth year players, a group that includes Allen himself, entering an important year for Nebraska coach Scott Frost and the Huskers as a whole.
