Ian Boerkircher relishes Big Red Senior Day experience
Richard Rhoden
Saturday morning’s chill brought a swell of bittersweet emotions for Ian Boerkircher.
The fourth-year Husker walk-on knew going in that everything he did that day would be the last time doing so in front of the greatest fans in college football.

More ‘run the ball,’ please?
Richard Rhoden
With a front row seat in the bone-chilling, shaded south end zone Saturday, my mind couldn’t help but wander.
How can a coaching staff, featuring new voices and ideas, keep getting the basic stuff so wrong which has plagued Nebraska for years?

Just win, baby
Richard Rhoden
The big boss and I spent the final few moments of Friday’s Husker game huddled around the office’s small TV, hoping for a reversal of fortune from the last half decade.
Nebraska pulled out a 14-13 win at Rutgers on a Friday night in an anything but easy scenario.

Husker Nation swallows tough pill, hoping tide will soon turn
Kurt Johnson
Husker Nation watched with a mix of nostalgia and gloom Saturday as a once proud rivalry played out again in Lincoln, demonstrating in real time just how far both teams have evolved, in different directions.

Scott Frost was fired as Nebraska’s football coach Sunday following a 45-42 loss to Georgia Southern at home. Frost was 16-31 in four-plus seasons as the Huskers’ head coach.
Breaking up is hard
Richard Rhoden
Sigh. This is hard.
Scott Frost was hired as Nebraska’s new head football coach on a sunny Saturday in December of 2017. It was a dream hire, one nearly every Nebraska fan, media member and booster put full support behind.
My excitement was palpable.

A special moment for the Boerkirchers
Richard Rhoden
I had this nagging feeling watching the Nebraska game on Saturday that I was in the wrong place.
With too much going on around here, I decided against going to the game as a media member and instead watched from home.

Austin Allen began training camp last week with the New York Giants, working toward a possible opportunity on the 53-man gameday roster.
Austin Allen beginning NFL career in New York
Richard Rhoden
It was a phone call Austin Allen will never forget, one he waited several days for which left him with a chip on the shoulder.
Seven rounds had come and gone over a three-day period in the 2022 NFL draft and the former Aurora Husky’s name was never called as one of the 262 selections.

Fixing the spring game
Richard Rhoden
Nebraska’s spring game on a picturesque April Saturday did its job.
That sentiment is all the more frustrating given what you and I watched from the stands and televisions over the weekend.
I’m not telling you anything new when I say that Husker fans border on psychotic and inquisitiveness.

A love-hate relationship
Dave Bradley
In my lifetime, I’ve definitely had a love-hate relationship with the University of Texas.
I just love to hate ‘em. Can’t stand the burnt orange. No apologies.

Naughty or nice?
Dave Bradley
Ho! Ho! Ho and pass the turkey!
It’s that time once again when I get to do my thing, when I get to hand out all sorts of fun presents to all of the nice (and a few naughty) girls and boys who made my very special list this year.
