A pair of Hamilton County teams improved to 2-0 on the season following the first football Friday of September.
The Aurora Huskies picked up its second consecutive win, going on the road Friday to down Ralston, 29-16.
Wyatt Pollet added two more touchdowns to his total in the first half of play, helping Aurora to a 21-10 lead at the break before the Huskies added a key fourth quarter rushing score from Malakai Camacho to heed off any Ralston comeback. Aurora will be back on the road again next Friday to see Lincoln Pius X.
High Plains has played two 6-man games so far and has yet to allow a touchdown. The Storm added its second consecutive win Friday night, downing Nebraska Lutheran 62-0. Aaron Brown, who had multiple first half touchdowns, scored on the final play of the half to give the Storm a 40-0 lead right on the heels of a Kyler Hans interception in the end zone to keep the Knights scoreless. HPC has a bye next week before its first big 6-man challenge, visiting perennial power Stuart.
H&H played its first home 11-man game Friday and had a tall task in front of them, hosting Class C2 favorite and top-ranked team Grand Island Central Catholic. The Crusaders proved to be just that, defeating the Bearcats, 45-0. H&H will be at home again next Friday, hosting Hershey.
Giltner was off Friday and will be back in action next week, visiting Diller-Odell.
