Aurora coach Kyle Peterson said he felt like his team “let one slip away” Friday in Bennington, where the Huskies turned the ball over three times on potential go-ahead drives before ultimately falling to the Badgers, 31-18.

A big test for the Aurora softball team came and went at the 4-Diamond Complex Thursday night. Conference and area rival York came to town with the Dukes using a late-inning surge to defeat the Lady Huskies, 10-5.

The Aurora boys cross country team fought the crowds at Seward on Thursday to push themselves to set personal best times on the hilly and winding course. “I was really happy with how they boys ran,” Aurora coach Tony Sigler reported.

Lady Huskies fall in five at Duke Dome

Aurora was again in position to defeat a ranked opponent Thursday night, but came up just short. The Lady Huskies held a 2-1 lead in the match over Class B No. 6 York on the road Thursday, but the Dukes rallied to win the match in five, 19-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-14 and 15-10.

Hills, a winding path and a bright, shining sun couldn’t slow down the Lady Huskies at the Seward Invite on Thursday. Aurora’s runners squared off against 11 other teams in a new layout course that challenged those in attendance.
