Aurora set for home cross country invitational Friday

Hills, a winding path and a bright, shining sun couldn’t slow down the Lady Huskies at the Seward Invite on Thursday. Aurora’s runners squared off against 11 other teams in a new layout course that challenged those in attendance.

North Platte bites Huskies in opener

Aurora kept it close against a bigger Class A squad Friday in the season opener with North Platte, but a lone first quarter touchdown wasn’t enough as the Huskies fell 13-6.

Kuehner snags gold at GINW

Down the stretch, it was almost like rolling out the red carpet for Elena Kuehner. The Aurora girls cross country team competed at the Grand Island Northwest Invite Friday to kick off the season and left with the first place team trophy and the individual gold.

Lady Huskies open season with stiff competition

Aurora’s 2020 season began with a tough slate, hosting preseason ranked foes Wahoo and Norris Thursday night. The Lady Huskies pushed Class C-1 No. 1 Wahoo to the limit, but the Warriors hung on to win in three sets, 21-25, 25-20 and 25-15.
