Firefighters from Hampton, Aurora and Bradshaw responded to a house fire at the corner of 4th and G streets in Hampton Saturday around 3:20 p.m.

Carson Klute hired as new Hawk principal/act. director

The Hampton School Board confirmed the hiring Monday of local Carson Klute to step up from a teaching-coaching role to become the district’s new high school principal/activities director. Supt. Holly Herzberg recommended Klute be hired to replace Brad Feik, who resigned his position last month.

The Hampton School Board accepted the resignation Monday of Brad Feik, who is just completing his second year as high school principal. “I really enjoyed and loved my time at Hampton,” Feik said in a brief interview. “I met some amazing people in this wonderful town.

All three area teams compete at windy HPC Invite

For the first time this spring, all three area teams converged at the same event.  High Plains’ rescheduled invite kicked off Saturday and went off without a hitch despite the loud wind gusts that never relented throughout the afternoon.  However, temperatures were manageable and the results showed.
