Huskies extend win streak to seven in pair of routs

In two games last week Aurora was expected to win, the Huskies had no letdown, sharing the ball well as its win streak extended to seven games.

The High Plains boys wrestling team put on a valiant effort in its home tournament now named after its longtime legendary coach.  The Storm had multiple semifinalists at the 53rd annual two-day Norm Manstedt Invite held at Central Community College in Columbus Friday and Saturday.

Lady Huskies grind out win over Gross

Aurora’s girls basketball team finished the 2022 calendar year on a high note, picking up its second win of the season by holding on for a 41-39 win over Omaha Gross in the consolation round of the Blair Holiday Tournament Friday.

For the second time in as many duals, Aurora hosted a Central Conference opponent to end the 2022 calendar year.  The Huskies welcomed Columbus Lakeview to town on an icy Thursday afternoon as the Vikings cruised to a 54-30 dual victory.

Local rivalries dominate top 10 games from ‘22

Well, that was fun.  Looking back at all the miles logged during the 2022 year, the one thing that stands out the most is the short road trips. In other words, the local rivalries really delivered this year, and that’s reflected well in our top 10 game recap.

Lady Husky wrestlers edge Northwest in home dual

Aurora’s girls wrestling team finished out its schedule before the holiday break with a merry good time. The Lady Huskies won three of the five contested matchup and held a slight edge in the team dual, defeating GINW 37-36 at home Dec. 20.

Hornets ride roller coaster in pair of contests

The Giltner boys basketball team had a great start to the season, but shooting woes have killed the momentum the team started with.  Those offensive struggles continued Dec. 9 as Nebraska Lutheran visited Giltner and left with a 49-27 win.
