Norma Kreutz

Norma Kreutz, age 96, of Grand Island, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Bickford Assisted Living. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Harvard Cemetery.  Current CDC guidelines will be followed.  Face masks are required.

Todd Petersen, age 48, of Aurora, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at UNMC in Omaha after a long battle with his health. Todd was cremated.  Private family inurnment will be at the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul, next to his parents.

Esther Blattner

Esther Blattner, age 72, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at her home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11 at the Aurora United Methodist, located at 1104 A Street in Aurora. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery at a later date.

Naomi Hammond

Naomi L. Hammond, 94, died Oct. 19 at York. She was cremated with inurnment in the Aurora cemetery with a family service. A Memorial service will be held at the Aurora United Methodist Church at a later date.

Patrick Ormond

Patrick Ormond, age 64, of Giltner, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 7 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Giltner.  Mass will be livestreamed on St. Mary’s, Aurora and St.

Steve Wishart

Steve Wishart, 71, of Aurora, passed away October 30, 2020 at CHI-St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Steve’s wishes were to be cremated and requested that no services be held.  Memorials may be to the family to be designated at a later date.

Marion Dettmer, 82, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Westfield Quality Care. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 3 at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel.  Rev. Greg Reed will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Kathleen Akerlund

Kathleen Akerlund, 77, of Aurora, passed away peacefully at her home on October 28, 2020. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, November 4 at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 415 South 18th St.  Family will greet friends 90 minutes before the service.  Rev.

Francis (Frank) Vetter

Francis (Frank) Carl Vetter of Sedona, Arizona passed away Oct. 26, 2020. He was born Jan. 8, 1953 in Aurora, to Robert J. and B. Roberta (Herron) Vetter. Frank was raised on the family farm southwest of Aurora.
