Hampton school plan not yet finalized due to COVID-19

The Hampton Public School Board discussed several issues Monday related to safety precautions that will be required to start the school year Aug. 12, ultimately realizing that it’s too soon to set policies and schedules in stone due to the rapidly changing status of the COVID pandemic.

Giltner Village Board approves CPI’s plan for new storage facility

The Giltner Village Board approved a conditional use permit Monday for CPI’s proposed commercial grain storage bunker, giving the company the green light to proceed with construction of a new 2-acre facility on the north edge of town.

During Monday’s High Plains Community School’s Board meeting the co-op committee presented information gained from a meeting with Osceola school officials.
The board has been in talks with Osceola in regards to a possible athletic co-op for both high school and junior high students.

The High Plains Board of Education met in Clarks Monday to discuss the upcoming school year amid the uncertainty of the coronavirus.
Board members and administrators looked at a number of options for resolutions that could be accepted for the 2020/21 academic year.

Hampton seniors to be honored with belated graduation Saturday

Hampton Class of 2020 seniors will put on their cap and gown for a second time Saturday, honorees at a graduation ceremony open to the community.

4R District to host kindergarten roundup July 31

The Aurora Schoo District will be hosting kindergarten roundup at Aurora Elementary on July 31 from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Parents are asked to bring any completed paperwork including kindergarten physicals, immunization records, eye exam and a raised-seal copy of the child’s birth certificate.
