A local nonprofit housing entity is optimistically awaiting word on a $1 million grant which, if awarded to Aurora, will create a $2 million revolving loan fund earmarked to address the community’s housing needs.

Students throughout Hamilton County will have a new opportunity to gain leadership skills while enjoying food, friends and activities through the Night L.I.F.E., leadership in a fun environment. The new non-profit program is through the Banisters Leadership Academy, based out of Omaha.

Providing another welcomed update, Hamilton County Emergency Manager Kirt Smith was first up on the agenda for the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners meeting Monday.  With the completion of the county’s first COVID-19 vaccine clinic, Smith again brought good news to share.

For Aurora native Drew Thompson, life has come full circle -- almost literally.  The 2014 Aurora High School graduate is now completing one of his last rotations in his pursuit to becoming a doctor, in the very hospital where he was born.
