The next quarterly meeting of the Hamilton County Veterans Service Committee has been set for Wednesday, Oct. 11. According to Veteran Service Officer Mike Irons, the meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m., in the DMV/Conference Room on the ground floor of the Hamilton County Courthouse.

Women in Philanthropy awards first round of grants

Hamilton County’s newly formed Women in Philanthropy program saw its mission start to become real last week, presenting the first grant checks to local nonprofit organizations.Three checks were presented in all, totaling $7,000 in funding that will directly benefit citizens of Hamilton County.
