Hampton village budget drops 54%

The Village of Hampton saw a significant decrease in its 2024-25 operating budget approved last Monday night, Sept. 9 as part of its annual budget and tax request hearing and meeting for the new fiscal year that starts on Oct. 1.

Cooperative Producers, Inc. (CPI) announced recently that is has strengthened its presence within the CPI trade area through the acquisition of Diamond J Custom Services LLC.

With the school year underway, Giltner FFA advisor Kelsey (Swantek) Schulte is excited to lead the chapter into its second year.Enthusiasm for the chapter was given a boost when the chapter’s welding team qualified for state FFA last spring.

Giltner school approves budget

The Giltner School Board approved its budget for the 2024-2025 school year during Monday night’s meeting. The tax asking was decreased by 5.2 percent from last year’s rate. The approved rate is 64.4 cents per $100 of valuation, a decrease of 12.5 percent from last year.

Art Walk Aurora will be returning for its 11th annual at the courthouse lawn Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Event coordinator Cindy McClellan noted that the decision to have the event take place on Sunday once again is due to the large turnout last year.
