Fairgrounds braces for annual haunting

Ghosts, ghouls and other creatures of the night are headed for the Hamilton County Fairgrounds this week for the start of the annual Haunted Fairgrounds scare fest that begins Friday night.
The Hamilton County Corn Growers teamed up last week to harvest the seed plot acreage on the Grosshans farm located on the east edge of Aurora along Highway 34. It was a picture-perfect day for harvesting, and the crews were done picking the corn and  documenting moisture and yields by early afternoon.

Two current members of the Hampton Village Board of Trustees are seeking re-election in hopes of serving four more years on the body. Incumbents Dylan Bamesberger and Jared Rojewski are both running unopposed to retain their seats on the village board.

Three current members of the Hordville village board of trustees are seeking to be re-elected to the board and are unchallenged. The candidates are current board chairman Rod Blase and trustees Benjamin Blase and Robert Anderson. All are running to serve another four-year term on the board.

Finn celebrates 1st birthday in style

Although Finn just turned one year old last month, he already knows his way around Memorial Community Care and has even learned which of the residents has the best treats. He even did his part to raise money for Aurora Adopt a Pet as part of his first birthday celebration last month.
