Exploring the low Platte River

We went exploring on Saturday. We tromped along a path in the brush from a friend's house to the Platte, and spent a few hours playing in the river. Initially, the kids were disappointed that there was almost more sand than water.

It was a classic love story. Boy meets girl. Girl doesn’t care for boy right away, then comes love and then comes a marriage that has spanned seven decades for Max and JoAnn Friesen. The couple met for the first time back in 1949 at a football game.
