Construction crews were busy Friday putting down forms to pour the first basement in 14 homes expected to be built this year in a new housing subdivision on the east side of Phillips. Rising lumber costs increased the target price from $217,000 to $259,000.

A near-perfect effort on the bump from Cayden Phillips was a big help for the Aurora Post 42 Pinnacle Bank Seniors in its first win last week.
Phillips tossed a complete game as Aurora defeated St. Paul 13-0 June 1 as the Pinnacle Bank Seniors won its first game of the season.
