Paul Parks, age 69, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020, at his home. Paul’s wishes were to be cremated.  For everyone’s safety, the family will hold a memorial service at a future date.  Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Todd David Brondel, 46, of Central City, died Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Merrick Medical Center in Central City.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Chapman, with Pastor Beth Gregory officiating.

Monty Dean Blackburn, age 77, of Stromsburg, passed away December 11, 2020 at his home in Stromsburg. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Monty was born May 25, 1943 to Everett Earl and Doris Effey (Jeffers) Blackburn in Aurora.

Eugene ‘Mert’ Griffith, age 82, of Aurora passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at CHI Health-St. Francis in Grand Island. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 18 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Pastor Greg Reed will officiate.

Gary Wolff

Gary Eugene Wolff, 71, native son of Aurora, passed to his eternal rest on Thanksgiving evening, November 26, 2020, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Kindness ran through Gary like gold runs through corn in the summer sunshine.

Ardean Andersen, age 95, of Aurora, formerly of Marquette, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Memorial Community Care. A Private Family Graveside Service was held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery at Kronborg. For everyone’s safety, the family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

Shirley Weedin

Shirley Weedin, age 90, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Memorial Community Care. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16 at the Aurora United Methodist Church.  Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate.  Interment will be at the Aurora Cemetery.

Bruce Dyer

Bruce Dyer, age 87, of Kearney, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the Kearney Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be planned once his wife has recovered from COVID-19 and is back in Aurora.  Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery at a later date.

Larey Crawford

Larey Lee Crawford, age 84, passed away November 30, 2020 at Saint Francis Medical Center (CHI) in Grand Island. Under the circumstances with COVID, the family has chosen to not put any of the family, relatives, and the many friends at any risk.
