Aurora firefighters responded to four separate turned over semi-trucks on Interstate 80 after a major wind storm blew through Thursday evening, while in town a local family escaped harm when a lightening bolt hit a nearby tree, sending pieces of tree and glass everywhere.

It was a huge start to the D-2 district track meet for High Plains. Within the span of two hours, the Storm had punched three tickets to the state meet in tough competition at the D-2 district meet at Osceola.

I’ve always taken issue with people who leave sporting events early.  If you’re going to leave a baseball game during the seventh inning stretch or a football game after the third quarter, why did you even bother showing up in the first place? I should really practice what I preach.

Lane Urkoski has always dreamed about playing college football. The HPC senior will get his chance, turning in his red and blue for black and orange.  “College football has been in my head since I was younger. When I was younger I would always say I want to go to the NFL.

Hannah Hodman considers herself to be an adrenaline junkie. She loves to compete.  She’s found a way to fuel both of those passions.  The High Plains senior signed an intent to continue her academic career at Hastings College while joining the cheerleading team for the Broncos Jan. 26.
