It’s fair week in Hamilton Co.

The 149th Hamilton County Fair is set to highlight the fairgrounds in Aurora this week despite it looking quite a bit different than it has in years past. Many events have been moved to accommodate for social distancing and to keep exhibitors, judges and volunteers safe.

Families reunited at MCC

It’s been emotional time for in-person family reunions at Memorial Community Care in Aurora as the long-term care facility was able to open its doors and welcome in visitors after four long months of pandemic-driven isolation.

I-80 work to begin near Aurora

Weather permitting, work will begin this week according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation on Interstate 80 just east and west of Aurora. Werner Construction Inc., of Hastings, has the $13,161,049 contract.

An article on Hampton’s graduation ceremony which appeared in last week’s edition incorrectly quoted Madisen Brown as the class salutatorian. Rachel Rust earn that honor and therefore gave the class’s salutatorian address.

APS announces registration for 2020/2021 school year

The Aurora Public School has released registration information for the 2020/2021 school year. Registration is for the new students that have not already registered for the upcoming school year. Exempt school students who would like to register for classes need to attend new student registration.

All I really need to know about how to live and what to do, I learned in kindergarten. Serving in the Legislature, I am getting an advance education. The Legislature is back in the Capitol and the session is raring to go.
