Pending a decision by the full Hamilton County Board of Commissioners next month, it appears the village of Marquette may be receiving additional services from the county sheriff’s office beginning this fall.

Joseph Ernst was sworn in as the newest Aurora police officer during a brief Aurora City Council meeting on Aug. 22.Ernst, who was joined in attendance by his wife, Cassidy, repeated the oath as directed by City Attorney Ross Luzum, officially becoming the 10th member of the department.

The Nebraska State Fair which begins this weekend in Grand Island, truly has something for everyone of every age, interest and level of activity and fair executive director, Jamie Parr says that’s exactly how the event’s organizers came up with this year’s theme, “Whatever your flavor.
