4R board holds line on budget

The Aurora 4R School Board approved a flat $15.26 million budget for fiscal year 2024-25 Monday, noting that the tax levy will drop by 10 cents to 71 cents per $100 valuation due to a dramatic 14 percent increase in the district’s property valuation.

More than 170 area producers and seed reps ventured to Aurora for BRANDT’s Agronomy Day Thursday, which included a field tour followed by a walk-through of the new 100,000 sq. ft. Specialty Ag Formulations facility in the Mission Critical Subdivision.

The Aurora City Council approved the 2024-25 budget levy request from the Aurora Airport Authority last week, lowering the levy by half a mill point to 3.0 cents per $100 valuation.

After opening up their vintage boutique in Aurora three years ago, Grape Frog Resale and Vintage Boutique owners Loren Berthelsen and Saxon Copeland have announced they are closing their physical location on Sept. 7 and moving exclusively online.
