HPC Storm defeat Hampton in area showdown last week

A quick start was all High Plains needed last week.
Coming off a few days off, the Storm looked fresh in a two-set win over Hampton at the Meridian triangular, 25-20 and 25-20. Both the Hawks and Storm lost to the hosts, Meridian.

Wood rounds out HPC career with highlight performance

Tanner Wood closed out his High Plains athletic career in impressive fashion.
Wood set a new PR in the pole vault while just missing out on the medalstand and helped the 400 relay team to one of its best times of the season during the state track and field meet last week.

Throughout most of the 2021 track season, a couple events have become staples for the High Plains track team. For the most part, those events will be well represented by the Storm in Omaha this week.

Storm falls to BDS at CRC

A delay of several days didn’t help High Plains much on the floor last week.
Its game against BDS in the opening round of the CRC tournament was supposed to be played Jan. 23, but a major winter storm that came through last week pushed it all the way to Jan. 27.

The Storm wrestling team competed in front of a home crowd for the first time this season last week, hosting a pair of conference schools in a triangular.
East Butler and Cross County/Osceola came to Clarks Jan. 5 for some midweek wrestling.
