Michelle Broekemier, a Hordville native with 20 years experience in the healthcare industry, has been hired as the new administrator at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora. The pending administrative change was announced this week by Rod Schroeder, Westfield’s chairman of the board.

The former Hordville school building will soon be coming down. Village board members voted last week to accept a bid from G & G Dozer, based in Caney, Kan., to demolish a three-story brick structure, parts of which have stood for more than a century.
