Area youngsters were getting some hands-on lessons from lifeguards at the Aurora Aquatic Center last week. Private swimming lessons were provided during the morning hours, with the pool then open to the public in the afternoon.

Aurora Coop Red extends COVID Series advantage

Strikeouts were a problem for Aurora’s two Legion baseball teams Sunday afternoon. In all, the two teams combined for 27 strikeouts as the Aurora Cooperative Red team picked up an 8-4 win over Pinnacle Bank White in the fourth game of the COVID Series.

The 62nd annual Shrine Bowl game was a highlight moment for Keaton Van Housen. The former High Plains athlete and Nebraska-Kearney football commit continued a family tradition by playing in the noted all-star game while picking up his first taste of the 11-man game.
